The Real Reason Tamron Hall Kept Her Pregnancy Top Secret

Former NBC news anchor Tamron Hall has lifted the lid on why she decided to keep the news of her pregnancy a top secret. In a comprehensive interview with PEOPLE, the veteran TV host confessed that she never thought she would sail through the nine-month process due to her age (Hall was 48 at the time), and other medical conditions diagnosed by her doctors.

In her exact words, “I was high-risk, not just because of my age, but there were other medical factors too”. Tamron says her doctor supported her decision to keep the good news to herself and reminded her that this was a personal journey. The new mom says she was terrified of losing the baby and then having to tell everyone that the good news turned into bad ones. Tamron held her baby, Moses, throughout the interview session and confessed that she had tried to get pregnant when she was much younger.

The broadcast journalist openly shares: “When I tried in my 30s, I still felt like I had some time, and the fertility clinic felt like a bright room. In my 40s I saw all the gray: The faces looked gray, the walls were gray, and nothing seemed shiny and optimistic.

Tamron states that when she left NBC, she said she looked forward to the next chapter. People assumed that she meant work, and she did, initially. By the third month, Hall says she knew that her life had to be about something bigger than work, but that she never expected her story to turn out this way. When she walked out of the NBC building, her future was uncertain. Hall sends a powerful message, saying that when we lose things dear to us, we can feel pretty lost, and have no idea that something better is right around the corner.
