Michael Jackson, 2003

Michael Jackson will always be known for changing the world of pop music forever. The legendary singer gave us songs like Billy Jean, Man in the Mirror, Beat it, and Thriller. Not to mention the countless dance moves, including the Moonwalk. Despite the changes, he has made on the movie and music scene Michael has been rumored to be involved in some dark acts.

In 2003, Michael was charged with indecent behavior to children. The singer was known to invite younger boys into his home named Neverland Ranch. The famous singer was acquitted on all counts after posting a bail of $3 million. After Michael’s death in 2009, more children came forward accusing him of the same indecent behavior. A documentary Leaving Neverland was made to document these allegations.

Chris Tucker, 2005

Chris Tucker had audiences all over the world in stitches with his portrayal of Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour movies. The American comedian and actor first came onto the scene in the 1995 full movie Friday co-starring next to Ice Cube. Since then, Tucker has led a successful career and is also using his fame as a platform to raise awareness for human rights issues.

In 2005, Chris was arrested for driving too fast. Chris, who had recently purchased a Bentley, was speeding at 109 miles per hour when police attempted to pull him over. Tucker tried to speed away from the police, and after a 10-mile pursuit he gave up. He pleaded guilty to eluding police and speeding, and he paid a $6,000 fine.

Steve McQueen, 1972

Nicknamed ‘The King of Cool”, Steve McQueen was a tactful American actor from the 1960s. He has starred in many Hollywood golden age movies including The Sand Pebbles of which he won an Academy Award nomination. He also appeared in movies like The Cincinnati Kid, The Getaway and The Magnificent Seven. It was well-known that McQueen loved race cars and motorcycles. He was usually pushing the boundaries and speed limits.

In 1972, McQueen was arrested in Anchorage, Alaska fro reckless driving and driving under the influence. He smiled on his mugshot while holding up a peace sign with his left hand. The actor didn’t take the arrest too seriously, and after posting bail, he left town and went straight back to America.

Jeremy Meeks, 2014

Unlike other celebrities, Jeremy Meeks actually got his fame through a ‘hot felon’ mugshot taken in 2014. Meeks was part of gang-related illegal actions. The gang’s name was The Crips Gang. Together with his gang, Meeks was arrested during a California gang sweep named Operation Ceasefire for illegal possession of firearms and grand theft auto. The Stockton Police took him in custody, and it’s here where they photographed his famous ‘hot felon’ mugshot.

The Californian police posted Meeks’ mugshot onto their Facebook page, and it soon went viral. The internet went crazy, and signs of change were in Meeks’ future. While he was serving his sentence, he received a modeling contract. Upon his release, his life as a model started, and he is followed by fans and fashion designers from all over the world.

Eminem, 2000

Will the Real Slim Shady please stand up? Marshall Bruce Mathers the third made headlines in the late ’90s and early 2000s for being one of the fastest rappers alive. More popularly known as Eminem, the rapper sold millions of copies from his album The Slim Shady LP and The Eminem Show.  He appeared in his own movie named 8 Mile, although it wasn’t a blockbuster hit, it made quite a stir. His controversial lyrics and outspoken personality got him into a few unwanted fights over the years.

It is no secret that Eminem and his ex-wife hasn’t had a very healthy relationship. Kim wasn’t a good mother to their daughter, Hailey, and she was reportedly addicted to illegal substances. In 2000, Eminem got arrested for whipping a man with a pistol. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon were dropped, and Eminem was sentenced to a two-year probation period.

Jay-Z, 1999

Jay-Z is an American rapper known for albums like Holy Grail and Hard Knock Life. Jay-Z has won many awards for his groundbreaking albums, including a whole bunch of Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, and Best R&B Song. The famous rapper is currently focusing on family life and is working on numerous collaborations with his wife, Beyonce, and other music industry legends.

In 1999, before Jay-Z settled down, he was arrested by New York City police for stabbing his record producer at the time, Lance Rivera at a club. Jay-Z was charged with felony assault that could have resulted in a hefty sentence of 15 years in prison. He invested in excellent attorneys, and after pleading guilty, his charges were dropped to misdemeanor assault, and he had to serve three years probation.

Bruno Mars, 2010

Born Peter Gene Hernandez, Bruno Mars is an American singer and songwriter who has made a huge impact on the music industry. His catchy tunes and unique dress sense have made him one of the best musicians of his generations. With songs like Versace on the Floor and Just the Way You Are, Mars has won numerous highly-acclaimed awards.

During a partying weekend in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the famous singer was arrested in 2010. The singer had 2.6 grams of the illegal substance, cocaine in his possession, and charges were made. Mars pleaded guilty, and charges were dismissed after he paid a fine of $2,000. He also had to serve 200 hours of community service and undergo substance abuse treatment.

Nina Dobrev, 2009

Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, more popularly known as Nina Dobrev is a Canadian actress who was born in Bulgaria. She first made her appearance in 2006 on the TV Drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Moving to Los Angeles, the actress soon became a Hollywood superstar for her role as Elena in popular TV series The Vampire Diaries. 

In 2009, Nina was arrested along with her Vampire Diaries co-stars Kayla Ewell, Candice Accola, and Sara Canning while they were dangling off a bridge on LA Highway I-72. The group of girlfriends was having too much lifting their shirts to passing drivers and being under the influence of alcohol. They were charged with disorderly conduct, and Nina was released after paying a $4,000 fine.

Michelle Rodriguez, 2007

Michelle Rodriquez still looks naturally gorgeous even without makeup on a mugshot taken by the Los Angeles police in the County jail. Rodriguez, who is famously known for her starring role in the Fast and Furious franchise, was arrested in 2004 for driving under the influence. She was charged and sentenced to a three-year probation.

Between 2004 and 2007, Michelle was arrested three times for driving under the influence. In 2007, after yet another violation of alcohol-consuming, while driving, the actress was sentenced to 6 months in county jail, after failing to meet other probation terms.

50 Cent, 1994

Famous rapper, Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent shot to fame in the early 2000s with rap songs like Candy Shop, Magic Stick and In da Club. The rapper has been seen as one of the rap-groundbreakers, and he has loads of awards to show for it. Awards include Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Solo Performance.

Before he struck gold as a rapper, 50 Cent was part of gang-type activities. In 1994, he was arrested by the New York police for felony charges that include selling illegal substances to the public.  50 Cent eventually served six months in the New York State Department of Correctional Services. It is known that 50 Cent never abused any illegal substances himself, but after serving his sentence, he was known as 50 Cent, which was a metaphor for change.

 Terence Howard, 2000

Terence first came onto the scene in 1992, he showed signs of becoming a promising actor, and so he did. His first major role was in the 1995 movie Dead Presidents. In 2000, Howard was arrested after boarding a flight. It was allegedly reported that he assaulted one of the flight attendants on a Continental Airlines flight. Once he reached Cleveland, he was arrested, and his mug shot was taken at the airport.

The misdemeanor charges were later dropped due to a lack of jurisdiction. Luckily this run-in with the law didn’t affect his successful acting career, and he continued making and starring in hit movies like Crash, Fighting, Hustle&Flow, and Iron Man. 

David Bowie, 1976

David Robert Jones is an English Rockstar popularly known as David Bowie. He made history in the late ’60s and early ’70s with songs like Life on Mars, Heroes and Ashes to Ashes. Not only did he make headlines with his elaborate costumes, ripped jeans and face makeup but a certain mugshot appeared in 1976.  Bowie and his friend Iggy Pop were arrested in Rochester, New York after a concert at the Community War Memorial.

The singer and his friend were arrested when police discovered 6 ounces of illegal substances in their hotel rooms. The banned substance was later known to be Marijuana.  Bowie and Pop only spent one night in jail and were released on bail. All charges were dismissed when a grand jury declined to indict them. Bowie did go for substance abuse treatment numerous time, and being arrested surely made him re-think his lifestyle.

Al Pacino, 1961

Alfred James Pacino, more commonly known as Al Pacino, is one of Hollywood’s greatest mega-stars. His meteoric success began with his groundbreaking roles in The Godfather and Scarface. The actor grew up in a tough urban area in the South Bronx, New York City. Having to fend for himself, he had a run-in with the law before he was famous.

In 1961, Pacino was arrested in Woonsocket, Rhode Island for possession of a concealed weapon. Pacino and two of his friends were caught wearing masks while driving suspiciously around the same block. Police pulled them over, and inside the vehicle’s trunk, they found a loaded .38 caliber pistol.  Pacino was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon. He spent only three days in jail and wasn’t able to come up with the $2,000 bail. Charges were later dropped.  A mugshot is all that remains from that event.

Mickey Rourke, 1994

Philip Andre “Mickey” Rourke Jr. is known for having quite the temper. In 1994 Rourke was arrested for alleged domestic violence against his 25-year-old wife, Carré Otis. The Los Angeles police charged him with domestic violence, but charges were later dropped. It was during this time that Rourke was taking a break from acting to focus on his professional boxing career. Despite efforts to keep his temper, he just couldn’t leave it in the ring.

In 2007, Rourke was arrested once again in Miami Beach for driving under the influence of alcohol on a Vespa Scooter. Only a year later, Rourke starred in the full movie The Wrestler which gave him many awards including a Golden Globe for Best Actor. 

Keanu Reeves, 1993

Famous Hollywood actor, Keanu Reeves is known for his action roles in movies like The Matrix and John Wick. Apart from being in the public eye for his handsome looks and acting skills, the actor encountered Los Angeles police back in 1993, and the internet went wild over the mugshot.

Reeves was arrested for reckless driving in Los Angeles and was charged with a DUI (driving under the influence).  The charges soon dropped when Reeves pleaded guilty and promised to never drive under the influence again. With his squeaky clean record, the actor was bound to walk away without paying anything.

Martin Luther King Jr., 1956

Martin Luther King Jr. has changed American history forever. The fight for freedom did come with a price, and he was arrested numerous times throughout his early years. In 1956, King was famously arrested in Montgomery, Alabama while protesting in the Rosa Parks bus boycotts.  In 1963 he was arrested for the second time and sent to jail after protesting ill-treatment of African Americans in Birmingham, Alabama.

Martin Luther King’s protests bore sweet fruits as he won the Nobel Peace Prize one year later in 1964 for combatting racial inequality through nonviolent resistance. He was only 35-years-old at the time. His groundbreaking speech, I have a dream is still famous today and inspires millions around the world.

Mick Jagger, 1967

Lead singer of the Rolling Stones Rock group, Mick Jagger, is known for his wild antics and bad boy ways. Despite having an outrageously successful career, the singer struggled with illegal substance abuse. In 1967 Jagger, together with a friend, Keith Richards, was arrested in Sussex England for Amphetamine possession.

Jagger was sentenced to three months in prison, but two months later on appeal, the charges were overturned. This wasn’t the last run-in with the law. It has been reported that Jagger has been arrested eleven times, and there are many mugshots photographs available to prove it.

Cher, 1959

Cherilyn Sarkisian, also known as Cher, was only 13 years old when she got arrested by the Los Angeles police in California. The famous singer is known for being outspoken and daring. She would wear daring costumes, dresses, and big hair to impress the crowds. Her angelic voice can bring armies to a standstill.

Before she was a famous singer, the star was arrested in 1959 when police caught her driving without a license. It was later known that Cher took her mother’s car without permission. Thankfully, nothing drastically happened, but the police did phone Cher’s mom. She probably got into a bit of trouble.

Nick Nolte, 1961

In 1961, famous Hollywood actor Nick Nolte was photographed by the Omaha Police Department after his arrest.  Nolte was only 20-years-old at the time of his arrest. Nolte was arrested for selling counterfeit draft cards. A harsh sentence of serving 45-years in prison plus a hefty fine of $75,000.

Nolte was convicted and after battles from his attorney, received a five-year suspended sentence. It was reported that Nolte regretted his felony conviction as it prohibited him from joining the military. In 2018, Nolte released a book named Rebel where he discusses the finer detail of this famous arrest and other parts of his life – to set the record straight.

Nicolas Cage, 2011

Nicolas Kim Coppola, more commonly known as Nicolas Cage, is a world-famous actor and filmmaker. Known for dating some of the most gorgeous actresses and models in the movie industry, Cage is known to be a bit of a heartbreaker. Unfortunately, it’s also known that Cage has a temper and jealous streak.

His first known run-in with the law was in April of 2011. Arrested by police and booked into the Orleans Parish Prison for being under the influence of alcohol in public and having a steamy fight with his wife. The feud got so out of hand that a window was broken during the incident. He was released on $11,000 bond.  After his arrest, he went directly back to work on his film Medallion. 

Vince Vaughn, 2018

Vince Vaughn is everybody’s favorite Funny man. The Hollywood actor is well-known for movies Wedding Crashers, The Internship and Couple’s Retreat. He would usually portray characters with a dry sense of humor who enjoys a visit or two to the local bar. In real life, this statement isn’t far from true. In 2001 he got arrested for fighting in a public North Carolina bar.

In 2018, Vaughn was arrested in Los Angeles at a checkpoint and charged with a DUI (Driving Under the Influence). He must’ve given the police officers a difficult time and was also charged with an obstruction charge. A few months later he pleaded with no contest and was fined an unknown amount. He will be on probation until May 2022.

Sam Shepard, 2015

Sam Shepard is a famous Hollywood actor and playwright. Known for his groundbreaking performances in movies like Days of Heaven, The Right Stuff and Black Hawk Down. He even won a few nominations and awards including a 1979 Pulitzer prize. Shepard made a big mistake when he consumed too much alcohol and jumped in behind the wheel back in 2015.

After dining in a Santa Fe restaurant near his home in New Mexico, he insisted on driving home. Waiters from the restaurant reportedly phoned 911 reporting their concern for his safety. Police arrested him, and a blood test later revealed that his blood alcohol content (BAC) was allegedly more than 0.25, which means a charge of aggravated DUI was put against him.

James Cromwell, 2013

Oscar nominee and famous Hollywood actor of movies like The Green Mile, Jurassic World and I, Robot, James Cromwell has had a very successful career. Despite living a humble and private life, the 73-year old isn’t shy about standing up for what’s right.

In February 2013, Cromwell was arrested by Wisconsin police officers on the University of Wisconsin’s grounds. The actor was part of a campus protest to stop the testing on animals for research. Protestors were holding up signs that called to stop the ill-treatment of animals during research. It is known that Cromwell is a big animal lover and activist for animal rights. After his arrest, he was taken to the Dane County Jail and charged with a misdemeanor. He was released soon after his mugshot was taken.

Charlie Sheen, 2009

American actor, Charlie Sheen, is not only known for his portrayal of many daytime comedy characters but also his bad-boy antics.  Cast and crew that worked alongside Sheen on the set of Two and a Half Men reported to the press that he had trouble with substance abuse and that he regularly pitched up to work either late or under the influence of alcohol.

In 2009, Sheen was arrested in Aspen while on holiday with his wife, Brooke Mueller. The couple had a disagreement and Charlie jumped into an uncontrollable rage. After being arrested, the actor was charged with domestic violence that included a felony assault, misdemeanor criminal mischief counts, and felony menacing. He was set free on an $8,500 bond. Brooke divorced Charlie in 2011.

Conor McGregor, 2019

Conor McGregor is a famous MMA fighter mostly known for being a UFC titleholder. Conor is a very talented and disciplined athlete who takes his sport very seriously. Everybody knows that you don’t go around making an MMA fighter angry.

Unfortunately, one fan of McGregor took it too far when they were trying to steal a quick snap of the world-famous champion. Conor was so outraged by the fan’s attempts that he resorted to smashing their phone into shards.  Footage of the incident can be found all over the internet. After short movie clips surfaced, the MMA fighter was arrested in a friend’s private home in Miami. McGregor was eventually sentenced to three days of anger management.

Larissa Dos Santos Lima, 2019

Larissa Dos Santos is a reality TV star known for her appearance in popular TV series, 90 Day Fiancé. The Brazilian born TV personality went onto the TV show with then-fiance, Colt Johnson. Not all love stories have a happy ending. Larissa was arrested in January 2019 for domestic violence against her new husband, Colt. After a fight that got out of hand, Colt phoned the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Upon arrival, they saw that Colt was heavily injured, and Larissa was arrested. All charges were later dropped.

Soon after her divorce to Colt in March 2019, Larissa started dating Eric Nichols. The couple flaunted their private lives all over social media, but after only eight months of dating, Larissa called it quits. She recently told an interviewer that she doesn’t want to date men who are broke anymore.

Chris Brown, 2018

Chris Brown has catapulted to stardom due to his gorgeous vocals, talented songwriting skills, and killer dance moves. He is known for songs like Freaky Friday and No Air. His arrest in 2018 was no shock to the world, as Brown has had many run-ins with the law in previous years. Brown’s most public arrest was in 2009 when he physically assaulted his famous girlfriend at the time, singer Rihanna.

Brown was arrested on 5 July 2018 in Palm Beach, Florida for not attending to a warrant he was given the previous year for physically assaulting a photographer. Brown paid $2,000 and was released. The singer was arrested again earlier in 2019 in France on claims of sexually assaulting a younger woman.

Heather Locklear,  2018

Heather Locklear was once a familiar face seen on television screens all over the world. Her gorgeously good looks and acting abilities were showcased in many movies on the silver screen including He Loves Me, The Perfect Man and Scary Movie. The American actress has had a successful career until she started showing signs of mental instability following a series of divorce and life-changing events.

In 2018, Locklear was arrested and taken into custody for two counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer and charges of domestic violence. The Melrose Place actress was hospitalized at the Thousand Oaks, California psychiatric hospital for evaluation only a week before the arrest. She was released the next morning with a $20,000 bail.

Luann de Lesseps, 2017

It can’t be easy to have your whole life on display for the whole world to see. For TV reality star, Luann de Lesseps, this statement is very true. The 52-year-old Real Housewives of New York City star it has been a rocky road. Known for her dramatic outbursts and also gorgeously good looks, the TV personality still looks good even on a mugshot.

Luann was arrested in 2017 on Christmas Eve in Palm Beach, Florida. She was charged with disorderly conduct, being under the influence of alcohol in public and allegedly kicking a police officer. The star recently went through a divorce with Tom D’Agostino jr. after only being married for seven months. There were rumors that Tom had an affair.

Reese Witherspoon, 2013

Girl next door, Reese Witherspoon, is known for her big bright smile and comedic acting skills. The Academy Award winner for best performance by an actress in a leading role for the movie Walk The Line, doesn’t seem like she can put one foot wrong.

In 2013, Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct in Atlanta. With her husband, Jim Toth, who is a CAA agent. The couple was having a fun night out when police officers pulled them over. Officers were giving her husband a mandatory sobriety test, and Witherspoon refused to stay in the car. Her behavior got her arrested, but she was released soon after and apologized, saying that she was deeply embarrassed by her behavior.

John Mayer, 2001

John Mayer is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and guitarist whos soothing voice is played all over the world’s radio stations. After signing a record deal with Columbia records in 1998, John shot into fame. His most famous song has to be Your Body Is a Wonderland that made its debut in 2001. It was in this same year that John was arrested.

On May 26, 2001, John was arrested in Atlanta when police pulled him over and discovered that he was driving with expired tags and no license plate.  We assume that John was just too busy writing hit song after hit song that he didn’t have time to update his car licenses. He had to pay a small fine and had to replace his car’s license within a specified period.
