This is How Genevieve Gorder Handled Her Lyme Disease and Hashimoto’s Diagnosis.
TV host Genevieve Gorder opens up about her changing lifestyle and new friendships with Yolanda Hadid through autoimmune diseases.
The former judge on tv show Design Star opened up to fans about her struggles with autoimmune diseases: Hashimoto’s and Lyme disease, in an episode of the Made Visible podcast.
Gorder revealed all, starting with her diagnosis of Lyme disease nine years ago. The first symptoms she noticed were a burning throat, one watering eye, and a burnt feeling on her tongue.
After being diagnosed with Lyme disease, Gorder recalls feeling lost within her body and confused about where to get help. During her research, Gorder came across former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid, who had discussed her battle with Lyme disease. This gave Gorder all the information she needed to help in her own struggle.
Genevieve later felt a huge sense of relief after receiving a positive result from some test on her Lyme disease. She had a few years of peace and then was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s eight years later. While the star struggled with her new diagnoses both mentally and physically, she took the same problem-solving attitude to her other disease.
Gorder’s Lyme disease has currently been dormant for the last eight years, and the star is intending to keep it that way with changes to her lifestyle. She has completely changed her diet removing all gluten and reducing the sugar levels alongside frequent exercise.
Some of her favorite ways to work out include trampoline classes, yoga, and tennis, which have been scientifically proven to boost people’s moods.
Despite her struggles with the two autoimmune diseases, Gorder is still passing on an inspirational message to fans, often reminding them that it is okay to slow down and take a break if needed.
