The Possible Reasons for Hair Loss Among Women

The optimum way of view how hair grows is to look at a garden. What happens under the scalp is a result that is visible to all. A properly maintained garden will result in a product which is normal. In the same manner, a similar theory can be applied to the scalp because the growth of hair is directly related to the scalp.
It is a necessity to maintain proper hair growth cycles because failure to do so can result in hair loss. A number of things can interfere with the cycle, including medication, illness, infection, or chemicals. These components are the reasons for the hair loss. The human scalp is dynamic and disrupting the cycle of growth can result in hair loss.
Hair loss is largely associated with men. However, women are also susceptible because they are likely to lose hair or begin to have thinning hair. Women usually notice these matters during their 50s and 60s. However, there is a potential of it happening during any age because of a variety of reasons.
Hair Loss
It is common for most people to lose around 50 to 100 strands of hair every day according to the American Academy of Dermatology. The problem can compound itself when the hair is washed because people can lose around 250 strands. However, this does not mean that women should stop washing their hair because it will eventually fall out.
It would be difficult to count the number of strands you have lost every day. Nonetheless, there are other ways of understanding whether you are suffering from the problem of thinning hair. As a woman, you can easily notice the difference if you pay attention to the large quantity of hair on their pillow in the morning. You could also notice it when you are brushing and notice more hair on the brush. Moreover, you can continue looking for more clues over a period of time.
Men usually notice hair receding from their forehead or the crown. On the other hand, things are different in women, who usually notice the thinning on the top half of the scalp. On many occasions, they do not see any difference in the frontal line.
The Remedies For Hair Loss Among Women
When you consider evaluating your condition and decide to visit a specialist, you will have to undergo a preliminary blood test. This is to ensure that you are not affected by problems of the thyroid or autoimmune system. Another method that is commonly used is to have a look and listen to an individual’s symptoms. Trying to understand the genes of the complainant and asking whether other members of the family are facing a similar problem will also give the consultant a fair idea of the problem at hand.
Experts have mentioned that hair loss is a hereditary condition that affects approximately 30 million Americans. Nearly 50% women are suffering from this problem. Despite hair loss occurring during the ages of 50 and 60, chances are it can happen during any stage and even affect teenagers.
Normally, in women who have female pattern hair loss, the fresh hair which develops is finer and miniaturized. Women with this problem are dealing with shrinking hair follicles. They face the eventuality of having no hair growth.
Medical Conditions Can Also Result In Hair Loss
There are a wide variety of conditions that can cause hair loss. The most common among them are pregnancy, thyroid disorders, and anemia. Autoimmune diseases and skin conditions can also lead to loss of hair. Also, there is a link between menopause and hair loss. However, it is believed that the two are not directly related. The possibilities of menopause and hair loss occurring at the same age could be a reason for this phenomenon.
Women could also be inflicting some damages on their hair when they try to manipulate their looks with the help of chemical treatments, dyes, blow dryers, and flat irons. This can result in damages and breakage. They could also be damaging their hair by brushing excessively or trying to dry their hair with the help of towels when it has just been washed.
The issue of hair loss can be reversed with medical treatments. However, it is essential to pay a visit to a dermatologist because conditions like these improve better when they are treated at the earliest.
