Here Are The Foods That Trigger Inflammation

We can say that people understand very little about inflammation. The first notion that generally comes to the mind upon hearing the name is that it is a good thing. It means that the swollen part is fighting off pathogens that are attempting to invade our body. While this is a great sign that the body and the immune system are alert, it can also be a bad sign. For sure, inflammation should not occur regularly. Rather, it should occur ONLY when something is wrong in the body.
However, with the modern lifestyle where pollution is the norm, the body is very vulnerable to foreign pathogens. As a result, one may have chronic inflammation every now and then. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent the occurrence of inflammation in the body. You just need to be picky and careful with the foods we eat. Here are the foods you need to watch out for if you want to avoid inflammation.
Dairy Products
Now you might be wondering why dairy products made it to the top of this list yet you know that they are all healthy. After all, they are the main sources of calcium and other vital nutrients.
It turns out that milk is not as healthy as you think. For one, people who are lactose intolerant can’t stomach milk. This because of the high concentration of sugar in it. Milk also contains a high dosage of inflammatory properties that makes it a major cause of inflammation.
In 1994, a study showed that consuming dairy products, even at a young age, was associated with an increased risk of hip fracture later in life.
Alternative:
Instead of drinking dairy milk, we recommend that you take non-dairy milk such as almond milk, cashew milk, coconut milk, and soy milk. These are generally healthier alternatives to dairy milk as they came from plants.
French Fries
This seems to be one of the most popular and delicious snacks that people eat today. It is hard to resist the crunchiness and the sweet yet salty taste of french fries. Fried potatoes are delicious, but before you drool over and decide to order some, take a moment to read past through this.
French fries are some of the most processed and unhealthy foods you can eat. They also contain properties that trigger inflammation. Furthermore, they cause rapid weight gain. Therefore, we recommend that you give up this food altogether if you want to prevent inflammation. One study found that feeding people a bag of potato chips (fried food) every day for a month highly increased inflammation and even put them at a higher risk of cancer.
Doughnuts
Now that we have ruled out the salty foods, you might say that the sinfully sweet, sugary foods can be spared, right? Well, wrong! It is highly recommended that you cut down on your doughnut intake because it is rich in refined flour and sugar. These two ingredients contribute to weight gain. They also spike up the blood sugar, putting you at the risk of getting type 2 Diabetes. One 2004 study showed people who ate too many refined carbs (like doughnuts) not only increased their risk of inflammation, but they were also at an increased risk of obesity and diabetes.
Bacon
We all love eating strips of bacon paired with eggs during breakfast. Moreover, most people love incorporating bacon into their meals and snacks. It is also the favorite on-the-go snacks for many people who feel like the day is not complete without munching one. However, this red meat does trigger inflammation. The saturated fat in bacon, when heavily processed, contributes to inflammation. The same goes for hot dogs and bologna.
