All You Need to Know About the Dessert for Breakfast Diet!

Dessert – the best part of a meal something that can drive the stress out of your hard day! As a child, most of us looked forward to that last part of the meal where you get a slice of dessert to devour at the end of your meal. However, as we all grew up, we got conscious about our health and fitness and the desserts took a backset from our meal.
Baring the occasional cheat days, you seldom consume it in a desperate attempt to avoid gaining weight. While breakfast is the most important meal of the day, most people tend to skip it. The most common reason they give is the lack of time or a rush to get to work. However, did you know that skipping breakfast actually goes weight gain?
But, what if we told you that there is a diet that lets you have as much dessert as you want, and that too for breakfast? Yes, you can start your day with dessert now and lose weight in the process.
What Is Dessert for Breakfast Diet?
This diet relies on the fact that those who have a carbohydrate-rich breakfast are less likely to have cravings or hunger pangs during the day. Having a high-protein snack in the morning aids weight loss faster than low-calorie food. These findings are an inference from a 32-week-long study. In this diet, you can have a cookie, pastry, or pancakes. Yes, that’s the most brilliant start for any day and the best part is you do not have to worry about the calories. The Wolfson Medical Center and Tel Aviv University took up this research. And the findings suggest that having a heavier breakfast helps you lose weight faster.
How does it work?
Research shows that people are less likely to be hungry when they start their day with a high-calorie diet. This means you will not have a heavy lunch or a calorie high snack just because you’re hungry. A lot of people who have had dessert for breakfast say they cut down their consumption of junk food. One possible reason for this could be the reduced cravings.
When you have something as heavy as a pastry, choco-chip cookies, pancakes, or any other dessert of your choice for breakfast, you are likely to stop snacking until your lunchtime. This means you get rid of all the unnecessary calories and junk food.
Why you should try it?
Research comparing the dessert for breakfast diet with the normal diet found that at the end of the 32-week-period both the groups had lost almost the same amount of weight. However, after a ten-week observation without control over the diet, it was found that the group which was on a dessert for the breakfast diet did not gain weight.
This was in stark contrast with the other group where the participants had regained a significant amount of weight they had lost during the dieting period. So, the dessert for breakfast diet, not just helps you lose weight, but also makes sure you do not regain it once you stop dieting.
Who can try this diet?
The study with over 1600 women and 1400 men had participants around the age of 43 years. Besides this, they were obese, had a sedentary lifestyle, and were nondiabetic. It is advisable that people who have a family history of diabetes, or are diabetic to not try this diet. That’s because the dessert will obviously increase the sugar content in your body and pose a life risk.
So, make sure you check with your doctor before you hop onto this diet! However, if you do not have a history of diabetes and see that your no-carb diet isn’t working, you should give this dessert for breakfast diet a shot!
We hope you get to try this fun diet too and have the desired weight loss. However, remember that every individual and their metabolism is different. So, it is important to take the suggestions of your dietician before you jump onto the fad diets.
It is important to stay healthy and fit rather than just shedding those pounds. So, adopt a healthy lifestyle and pick a diet that suits your body the best!
